In Washington D. C.

I went to Washington D.C. for my winter vacation. The first day we were in Washington D.C., we did not have much time because we got there at 3:00. We went out for dinner and after dinner we went to Trader Joes to get snacks for the next day. After Trader Joes we went to the hotel and went to bed.

The next day we woke up way to early. We stayed in the hotel til about 10 a.m. Finally we left to go to Founding Farmers for breakfast. The food was really good. After breakfast we headed out for an all day walk around the National Mall and Smithsonian Museums. We went to the Museum of American History first. We went to the Spark Lab where the scientist showed us cool stuff. He used no electricity to light a light bulb and Sammy and I tried it too. The scientist took a cooper tube and played a trick on us. He dropped a metal slug and one went fast and one went slow. We found out one was a magnet.

Next we went to National Archives and saw the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Yes the original ones. After that we went to the Museum of Air and Space. We rode a space ship and simulator and we saw the first monkey in space. It was really him stuffed. His name is Able. We also saw an actual moon rock. I also went inside a space ship and a shuttle. We even got to try freeze dried ice cream. The same ice cream the astronauts eat in space. It was really good. Then it was time to walk back to the hotel. It was freezing cold and it was a long walk. We walked right passed the Washington Monument. It is really tall. When we finally got to the hotel we thawed out and then went to Elis kosher deli for dinner. We were so hungry because we never ate lunch.

The next day daddy had to go do his conference so we stayed in the hotel with mommy and ordered breakfast. Then we went to the National Aquarium. It was kinda boring, but Matthew and Sammy loved it. After that we went back to the National Museum of American History for just a few minutes to see Dorothy’s original ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz, the original Kermit the Frog, and the first ladys original ball gowns.

Then we went to the International Spy Museum. It was so much fun. There was an air vent that you could crawl through and see people down below. There was a mission you had to complete throughout the museum. I was Jane Meyer and went to Ireland to get secret documents. It was the best.

The next day was going home day we were going to Virginia to see George Washingtons estate and gardens. I got a map and at the end you get a prize. The prize was a token with George Washington’s signature. Then we left and drove to Philadelphia for diner. After we ate we continued our drive back to Brooklyn. We arrived at 11:00 p.m.
